Dr Himanshu Gupta, Asstt. Professor working in the Department of Cardiology headed by Prof Yash Paul Sharma presented a case at very prestigious meeting called Joint Interventional Meeting (JIM) held at Milan, Italy .

The meeting was attended by Cardiologists from more than 40 countries where complex angioplasty cases from around the world were presented. Dr Himanshu Gupta’s case of a complex angioplasty done at PGIMER, Chandigarh was selected as the BEST CASE of the meeting.

This is for the first time that an Indian Cardiologist has got this honour in the prestigious meeting.  This case of an aged lady whose Right Coronary Artery of heart was to be handled. As per Dr Himanshu Gupta, It was a tortuous case since artery was spirally folded and it was quite hard for stents to settle in also there had been perforation on table. “Since Artery was calcified, spiralled and on table perforation, it had been a challenge. Yet, we have been able to deal with it and patient is fine”, said Dr Himanshu Gupta
