Lawyer sent notice to PGIMER, AIIMS and PGI Docs Associations sent representations to PGI authority.

PGIMER in its Recruitment advertisement on 8 July 2019, have asked for Faculty Placement as per rules of Govt of India for the upcoming Bathinda AIIMS. In this advertisement, PGIMER has mentioned specific rules for not allowing Disable/handicap candidates to participate in the placement process. After taking this as contempt of Supreme Court’s order dated 10/07/2017 issued in Writ Petition (Civil) No.412 of 2016 titled as “Gaurav Kumar Bansal Vs. Union of India and Others”. The lawyer Bansal have sent a notice to PGIMER seeking changes in advertisement on this disparity with Disable/Specially abled candidates.
On this particular issue, the resident doctor association of PGIMER and AIIMS have sent representation to PGIMER authority stating and questioning on disparity. As per Lawyer Bansal, there are many doctors in AIIMS, who are specially abled and working in AIIMS in the same departments, on which PGIMER have refused participation in its advertisement for recruitment of Faculty to be placed for Bathinda AIIMS.
As per Lawyer Bansal, the office memorandum presented on dated 15/01/2018 as the same is available on the website of the DoPT, Govt. of India. Bare reading of the Office Memorandum dated 15/01/2018 clarifies that nowhere the said OM has identified any of the departments for reservation in Group A posts.
As per PGIMER Advertisement there are vacancies in Dentistry, ENT, Microbiology, Psychiatry, Pharmacology, Physiotherapy(PMR), Radiology, Radiotherapy & Radiation Medicine, Speech Therapy, TB & Chest Disease(Pulmonary Medicine) and Urology for reservation in Group “A” posts vide latest GOI instructions issued by DoPT vide Office Memorandum dated 15/01/2018.
