ECI DECLARES DAY OF COUNTING AS A DRY DAY IN PUNJAB

Keeping in view the announcement of the results for the Punjab Legislative and counting of votes, the ECI has announced complete prohibition on the sale and supply of liquor all over the state. All the liquor vends and shops will remain closed on March 11, 2017.
According to an official spokesperson of the Election Commission of India, the Chief Electoral Office Punjab has been directed to ensure absolute compliance of the ECI.
As per the ECI directive, all the liquor shops in the state would remain closed and no hotel, restaurant, liquor shop or any eating joint, even with a license, would be allowed to serve or sell liquor on the day of announcement of results of Punjab Legislative Assembly in the state on March 11, 2017.
