Blood Transfusion Department of Rajindra Hospital Patiala, running as escheated department

Approaches, privileges are not something new in Punjab bureaucracy, but in this case, there is something beyond a general case of favoritism. Here an Assistant Professor of Blood Transfusion Department of Rajindra Hospital is favored without considering the situation of the department which has been suffering a shortage of staff for a long time. Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur, Assistant Professor of Blood Transfusion Department of Rajindra Hospital, Patiala gets orders favoring her personal interests from the top authority of Punjab Medical Education and Research.
She belongs to Amritsar and has been working here in Patiala as an Assistant Professor after being promoted and transferred here from her parent District Amritsar. Since the department of blood transfusion does not even have a Head of Department so Dr. Kanwaljit has been authorized to do all administrative jobs in her profile. She got orders in the time of COVID which says that she will deliver her duty 5 days in Amritsar Medical College and Hospital and One day in Patiala Rajindra Hospital. This order passed two months before and after the orders, the latter hardly came to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. As a result, all file work, official work gets pending and the department left as heirless.
When we try contacting D K Tiwari, Principal Secretary, Medical Education and Research, on this issue, as usual, he did not answer any call and even message that been sent to him on WhatsApp, to reply being a Public Servant.
While talking on this Medical Education and Research Minister O P Soni says, “I do not have any such idea of this issue, but I will certainly enquire about this and would also sort this problem of the department in question. No transfer shall be made on favoritism, we never endorse such practice”.
